Acoustic Conditioning

Acoustic studies to understand the sound behaviour of a space

Preliminary measurements of the main acoustic values according to space usage. Results analysis with auralisation (acoustic simulation) of the proposed measures.

Space types

We carry out acoustic conditioning adapted to the specific needs of each space and use.

🏟️

Auditoriums & theatres

Optimising acoustics to achieve an exceptional sound experience in performance and performing arts venues.

🏢

Offices & coworking

Reverberation reduction and intelligibility improvement for productive and comfortable workspaces.

🏫

Classrooms & schools

Conditioning to ensure proper speech transmission according to current regulations.

🍽️

Restaurants & hospitality

Ambient noise and reverberation control to create pleasant and comfortable environments for diners.

🏥

Hospitals & clinics

Acoustic treatment for healthcare spaces requiring sound comfort and acoustic privacy.

Churches & worship

Improving speech intelligibility and music quality in religious spaces with high reverberation.

Methodology

Rigorous process based on professional software and real measurements to guarantee results.

1

Initial evaluation

Analyse the space to identify problem areas. Measure intelligibility and reverberation levels according to its use.

2

Acoustic plan design

Create a model of the space with the surfaces that most affect acoustics, including the selection of appropriate materials and solutions such as absorbent panels, diffusers and acoustic barriers.

3

Material selection

Choose effective materials to absorb or block sound: surface panels, furniture, treatment of existing materials.

4

Solution installation

Apply the selected materials in the identified areas following the designed acoustic plan.

5

Testing & adjustments

Post-installation acoustic analysis to verify that solutions are working correctly. Adjustments if necessary.

Initial analysis

Detailed study with 3D modelling and EASE professional software to simulate acoustic behaviour.

Acoustic space model
Step 1

Space model

A model of the space to be conditioned is created, taking into account the surfaces that significantly affect the acoustics and considering the surface materials as well as the possible types of occupancy by people.

Acoustic situation analysis
Step 2

Situation analysis

A preliminary analysis of the original state is carried out to verify the effect of the proposed solutions. For studies on already built or operational spaces, prior reverberation and intelligibility measurements are recommended to contrast with the model.

Acoustic solution proposal
Step 3

Solution proposal

The necessary solutions are proposed to reach the target values, taking into account the functionality and use of the space. Proposals are made both at surface treatment level and for the placement and adjustment of electroacoustic elements.

Acoustic conditioning results
Step 4

Objectives & results

Objectives achieved according to the study plan. Report of solutions with all information on materials, modifications and recommendations necessary to achieve the ideal values for optimal space operation.

Sound reference

EASE software enables auralisation to obtain a sound reference of the space once the proposed solutions have been applied. This allows verification of whether the proposed objectives are achieved.

Frequently asked questions

What is acoustic conditioning?
Acoustic conditioning involves modifying the acoustic properties of a space to improve sound quality, reduce excessive reverberation and optimise speech intelligibility or musical experience.
What is the difference between sound insulation and acoustic conditioning?
Sound insulation prevents sound from passing from one space to another. Acoustic conditioning improves sound behaviour within the same space, controlling reverberation, echoes and sound distribution.
What software do you use for the studies?
We use EASE (Enhanced Acoustic Simulator for Engineers), the industry standard for acoustic modelling and simulation. It allows creating 3D models of the space and simulating sound behaviour with auralisation.
How long does a conditioning study take?
It depends on the complexity of the space. A typical study can be completed in 2–4 weeks, including data collection, modelling, analysis and preparation of the report with proposed solutions.
Are on-site measurements necessary?
For already built or operational spaces, prior reverberation and intelligibility measurements are recommended to contrast with the model and obtain more accurate results.
What is auralisation?
Auralisation is a technique that allows you to hear how a space will sound before any intervention. EASE software generates a sound simulation of the space with the solutions applied, allowing anticipatory result validation.
